Playwriting Course

Organiser: Living the Drama

An eight week course in play writing for anyone between the ages of 50 and 90+. We will cover the following topics, with plenty of exercises and interaction: Developing a strong storyline, building structure of the play, creating realistic characters, building tension and conflict following a narrative arc, how to write naturalistic dialogue and formatting your script. By the end of this course you will have written your first draft short play. 15th Jan - 12th March (no meeting on 5th March).

Strength and Balance (Upper Heyford)

Runs before regular Lunch Club at the community centre. Therapy style evidence based exercise class focusing on strength, balance, flexibility and mobility. Option to practice going down and up from the floor (or kneeling). Uses chair as a support and a range of equipment. Ideal for people who are worried about their balance. Medium intensity and low impact. Please call to book a place.

Looking for a gentle way to get active, and destress? New Tai Chi Classes will be starting at Rose Hill Community Centre on Fridays from 25th January 2019. The first class on 25th January is free, and all classes are £5 afterwards. Tai Chi is a gentle approach to developing power and stamina, as well as calmness and mental freshness. All classes led by Amy, a naturopath specialising in Qu Gong/ Tai Chi. Suitable for beginners!
