Abingdon & District Volunteer Centre Car Scheme

Organiser: Community

A voluntary car scheme operating in Abingdon and local villages for people who would typically find using public transports of taxis difficult; taking people to Oxford hospitals and local doctors’ surgeries.   The service is able to support wheelchair users.  Individuals who require additional support and care would require their carers to join them. Unfortunately the service is only able to provide a drop off/collection service whilst drivers are happy to escort people into buildings the drivers can not be responsible for the care of the individuals too. Charge : Variable Minimum Charge is £5 More drivers are urgently needed as we sometimes are unable to fulfil requests.
