Men's Sheds (Oxford)

Organiser: Men's Sheds Association

Men's Sheds are community spaces for men to connect, converse and create. The activities are often similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups of men to enjoy together. They help reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, they’re fun. Woodwork, metalwork, crafts, hobbies and social contact and much more in idyllic surrounds.

London Swing Orchestra

Organiser: Cornerstone Arts Centre

Formed for a VE Day dance in 1985, the London Swing Orchestra continue to delight over thirty years later. From Buckingham Palace to Beijing, Graham Dalby has led his orchestra in concert or dance performances in some twenty-nine countries around the world. The music dates from 1900 and takes us on a marvellous journey from Ragtime to Sinatra swing. Described as ‘witty and stylish’ Dalby narrates the story with anecdotes and a fascinating history of 20th-century music. With fourteen albums to their credit, the LSO present a wonderful evening of classic Jazz and Swing including Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Cole Porter, Louis Armstrong and of course Frank Sinatra!

Gardening for all ages and abilities with a very friendly group from the local community. We have activities for both the active and not so active. We grow vegetables, fruit and flowers and any excess is available to take home. We have a poly tunnel to garden in if raining. We always stop for tea, biscuits and chat in the last half hour.
