Greenshoots

Organiser: The Ways & Means Trust

We provide horticultural therapy for adults with learning, mental and physical disabilities. Greenshoots has a five acre plot, with a 60 foot glasshouse, polytunnels and a classroom for inclement weather. Participants can work as part of a team, or have an individual plot. As well as learning gardening skills, participants benefit from a social setting with their colleagues and members of the public.

Work based learning for adults with learning, mental and physical disabilities. Based in the warehouse and canteen at Unit 26, Manor Farm, participants take part in secondary packaging tasks; packing items, making boxes, labelling, etc., in the warehouse and learn basic cooking and housekeeping skills in the canteen. As well as taking part in these activities, underpinned with numeracy and literacy, participants benefit from a social setting with their colleagues and members of the public

The session is aimed at Older People including people living with Dementia and their carers and each month we will explore and discuss a different aspect of the Ashmoleans amazing collection. In first session we will discuss the Founding Collection and we will be going into the Ashmolean Story Gallery to look at some of the objects on display. Light refreshments will be served and the group is free of charge. The group will be meeting in the Ashmolean Education Suite (lift access is available), the best entrance to use is located on St Giles. There is parking on St Giles (including two disabled slots near to the Ashmolean Museum St Giles entrance). 22nd March 2018 19th April 2018 24th May 2018 21st June 2018
