Grove Day Centre for the Elderly

Our aim is to provide a friendly and stimulating atmosphere for our clients where they can meet their friends and make new ones. A home cooked meal is provided catering for various dietary requirements as well as teas and coffees. Exercises and quizzes are held regularly. Transport can be provided by volunteer drivers via the Advice Centre or through Oxfordshire County Council

Bridging the gap

Bridging the Gap is a group aiming, through a series of activities and arts events, to bridge the gap between the young and old in our community in Faringdon. We invite elders to the Faringdon Junior School where we work with the children on current projects, exchanging views and learning from each other. Topics have included: writing biographies, collecting memorabilia and we invited an historian to investigate them, made clay tiles for a mosaic and tiles for the school Peace Garden, made a willow den, published with the school a book called 'Being 11'. Days vary.
