Stanford in the Vale Short mat Bowls

Organiser: Community

The club is open to anyone from the age of 10 years. An annual subscription, currently £6 per year, is charged and a fee of £1 per session which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. The first three sessions that a new person attends are free. We ask that players wear either bowling shoes or slippers with flat,smooth soles. We have equipment i.e sets of bowls which can be used by anyone wishing to have a go! Monday 7.30pm - 9.30pm Tuesday 2pm - 4pm Alternate Fridays 7.30pm - 9.30pm We are a very friendly group who all began at varying times essentially to play social bowls. Many of us have gone on to competitive bowling, We now have two teams in the Oxfordshire Short Mat Bowling Association and several of our members have been selected to play for Oxfordshire in the Inter County Championships.

Wallingford and District Art Club

Organiser: Wallingford and District Art Club

Weekly painting workshops and regular demonstrations. These provide a meeting place for artist to improve their own standard of work, through practice, mutual support and friendly criticism. Every third Tuesday in the month there are demonstrations or talks by artists of local or national repute, in which they talk about their work and demonstrate their skills and techniques. New members are always welcome and membership is open to anybody who supports the objectives of the Art Club. Tuesday Mornings Tutored Art Classes also available at £80 for a 6 week term. Duration is 3 hours 10am to 1pm where tutors work with participants to produce paintings and drawings in a variety of mediums.
